Work Travel Woes

Most of us have experienced traveling for work. Lately, I have been traveling a lot, driving a lot, and just overall working A LOT. I have been to multiple states, multiple hotels, and living out of a suitcase.

I’m sure other people have the same problem I’m having: how do I keep a workout routine/yoga routine while traveling?  Obviously, surfing is out of the question, unless I am in a city where there is ocean, but I usually don’t travel to places where I could surf.

Working out is equally as hard as surfing depending on the hotel accommodations. Most of the hotels I stay in don’t have a gym, not to mention it’s hard enough to sleep during business travel.

So, I was wondering followers, how do you keep your workout routines/yoga routine while traveling? I would love to know!

It’s been a while…

It’s been about 3 months since my last post. Between moving and switching jobs, I took a break to just surf, practice yoga and get our new house situated…but now I’m back! So, what have I been up to?

Well, I definitely surfed all Summer, worked on some techniques, and started have a board professionally shaped (more to come on that). I found out that I’m a better surfer goofy-footed, and lately I have been practicing my skills using both feet. I have really loved being part of dawn patrol, and even more comfortable surfing in the dark. Although, lately with it being so dark in the morning, I will switch to afternoon surfs for a while.

As for my yoga practice,  I have been bouncing from studio to studio again trying to find the yoga studio that suits me the best. I’m not going to lie; it’s been a huge struggle. I have been missing teacher led yoga, especially since I’m surfing and working out SO often!

I also started to incorporate Crossfit into my workout routine. I decided I needed to get stronger, especially when carrying a 20 pound surfboard down to the beach shore. The workouts are intense, but the group I found is amazing and supportive. The trainers listen to what I need to get out of Crossfit, which enables me to be a better surfer.

It’s been a transformative three months, but now I’m back!
