I am not going to lie. One of my favorite things in the world to do is watch T.V. I love to relax at night, sit on the couch, and binge watch documentary shows, dramas, comedies etc.
Well, the past couple of weeks while strengthening my ankle, I decided to practice some seated yoga poses while watching t.v. Might as well right?
Here is a list of my favorite seated yoga positions:
1. Firelog Position
2. Butterfly Position
3. Seated Twist
4. Seated Staff Pose
5. Lizard lunge
6. Pigeon Pose
I also added in some ab work while watching tv as well. Here are some exercises I have been doing:
1. Bicycle crunches
2. Sit ups
3. Leg lifts
I have definitely noticed a flexibility difference already, and hey, none of this can hurt.

When I started doing yoga, I pissed off a yoga teacher because I was “too relaxed” in Pigeon Pose for HER comfort 🤔😳 She got snarky about it, but for me, it feels like a great stretch.
I’m guessing the lady never watched ballet dancers contort themselves before a performance- I didn’t think I was doing anything weird 😂

Too relaxed? That’s so weird to say! Everyone has poses that are easier than others…for me Pigeon and Firelog are super easy, nice stretches but I can hang out in them all day 😁

Exactly! Everyone has their comfort poses, and I wasn’t sure why she made an example out of me in class. I’m trying to get the nerve to go back to classes, but I hate getting called out.
There’s only one teacher I know of (who also happens to be a good friend of mine) who knows my stupid human tricks! I have lots of flexibility, but ZERO strength, so I want to take classes from her, but she teaches soooo freakin’ early 😝 She’s such a good Surfer and Yogi, and she’s incredible to watch and learn from, so I need to get my ass in gear with a quickness

Honestly, I usually don’t jive well with teachers that call other yogis out. I always appreciate adjustments especially if I’m doing something completely wrong, but to shame someone in class bothers me. It takes a lot of courage to go to a yoga class! Early yoga classes can be challenging! Especially in winter when it’s so dark outside! And, you must have some strength…you surf and carry a surfboard 😁

I am sorry you had a negative yoga experience, I have actually walked out of a yoga class before because I was being picked on 😊…i wasn’t having it LOL

What a great idea. I practiced yoga for many years. This sounds like a great option for me
